The following list of optional excursions are examples only for your vacation. These optional excursions might or might not be offered. Whether it’s a special dinner, a local show or a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into an historical site, optional excursions are a wonderful way to enrich your vacation even further. Plus, they give you flexibility. We include the must-see sites and experiences, and we also understand that people take interest in different activities and may want to craft a more personal vacation by hand-picking optional excursions that appeal to them.

Availability is subject to sufficient participation, weather conditions, seasonal suitability, days of operation, group interests, and general feasibility for your vacation. The approximate value listed gives you a good, general idea of what you can expect to pay but may vary once you are on your vacation. Tours will be available for purchase when you arrive at your destination. Paris

Dinner and Show at La Nouvelle Eve — Approximate value: €124 EUR per person
No visit to Paris is complete without a night out at the cabaret! Enjoy a whirling international dinner show (unlimited wine) at Pigalle’s one and only La Nouvelle Eve.

Dinner and Show at Moulin Rouge — Approximate value: €167 EUR per person
Enjoy an unforgettable evening at the world-renowned Moulin Rouge, home of the French Can Can for more than a century. Dinner with half a bottle of wine is served during the show and a glass of champagne completes your evening in style.

Excursion to the Louvre Museum — Approximate value: €45 EUR per person
Your guide will bring to life the most celebrated treasures of the impressive Louvre Museum, including da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa. Built originally as a royal fortress in the Middle Ages, the Central Arts Museum was opened to the public in 1793. The Louvre holds 35,000 works of art divided into eight categories: paintings, prints & drawings, sculpture, decorative arts, Greek, Etruscan & Roman antiquities, Egyptian antiquities, Near Eastern antiquities, and Islamic art. NOTE: This excursion is not available to groups on Tuesdays, public holidays, and Sundays.

Excursion to the Palace of Versailles — Approximate value: €59 EUR per person
Travel out of Paris to the lavish 17th-century baroque Palace of Versailles, built by the Sun King, Louis XIV, with its magnificent State Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, and Royal Chapel. Your Local Guide will bring its history to life during your visit, then time at leisure to stroll through parts of the elegant 250-acre gardens. Louis XIII originally purchased Versailles and its surrounding land to serve as his hunting lodge. Later, his son, Louis XIV, decided to make it his seat of government, and in 1682, he installed his impressive court and numerous noble visitors in sumptuous surroundings, a symbol of absolute monarchy. NOTE: This excursion is not available on Mondays and public holidays.

Seine Cruise and MontmartreApproximate value: €39 EUR per person
Discover more of beautiful Paris with a cruise on the River Seine and a visit to the artistic and picturesque district of Montmartre, famous for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacre Coeur. Enjoy free time to stroll around Place du Tertre and to watch bohemian street artists at work.

Aix-en-Provence

Excursion To The Heart of Provence — Approximate value: €55 EUR per person
Travel to the heart of Provence and stop for an olive oil tasting. Later arrive to the picturesque village of Les Baux-de-Provence, listed heritage site that has won titles such as “one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France” or “an Outstanding Centre for Flavoursome Food”. The essence that gives Provenal villages their very special charm and scent can also be found here – small squares, shady pavement cafes, narrow streets and shops. Located on a rocky plateau is also well known for its olive production. Here you will admire panoramic views of one of the most striking landscapes of olive groves in the area.

Bayeux

WWII, Atlantic Wall and Artificial Port — Approximate value: €25 EUR per person
A short drive will take you to Longues sur mer where you will see one of the best preserved parts of Hitler’s notorious Atlantic Wall: a four-strong gun battery. Completed in April 1944, this group of bunkers, armed with 152mm navy guns, was supposed to stop the Allied attack on D Day. Then on to Arromanches, a charming seaside resort famous for the remains of its artificial port : Mulberry. Constructed right after the landings, it was used to bring in over 2.5 million men and 4 million tonnes of supplies providing much needed reinforcements in France, a major step in the liberation of Europe. A chance to sample Normandy specialties in the local restaurants during your free time in the town before returning to Bayeux.

Loire Valley

Bordeaux

The Great Dune of Pyla and Arcachon — Approximate value: €37 EUR per person
One of the marvels of the Aquitaine region is the Great Dune of Pyla, the tallest sand dune in Europe. It stretches its 60 million cubic meters of fine sand on nearly 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) from south to north, 0.4 miles (500 meters) from west to east, and soars as high as 384 feet (117 meters). For the most athletic visitors, climbing up this slope is a real challenge. For others, a staircase makes the ascent a little easier. At the top, the view is spectacular, showcasing the coast, the vast pine forest of Les Landes, and, when the weather is clear, the Pyrenees range. Later, visit Arcachon, one of the most relaxed and beautiful beach towns on the Cote d’Argent (Silver Coast).

Monaco
