This is the ancient city that’s made its way onto the UNESCO World Heritage list in recognition of its beautifully preserved Roman monuments — some of which date back to the 1st century BC. Besides the city’s Roman heritage, Arles is also known for its strong sense of cultural identity. Once the home of Vincent van Gogh, the city is home to striking architecture that attracts art and architecture lovers from around the world. Get the chance to see some of its finest examples with an inside visit of the Theatre and Amphitheatre. After the visit of the city of Arles you will understand that it is not only a city, but also a place where you really feel this crossing of cultures and where every period proudly left its mark..

Bayeux

WWII, Atlantic Wall and Artificial Port — Approximate value: €25 EUR per person
A short drive will take you to Longues sur mer where you will see one of the best preserved parts of Hitler’s notorious Atlantic Wall: a four-strong gun battery. Completed in April 1944, this group of bunkers, armed with 152mm navy guns, was supposed to stop the Allied attack on D Day. Then on to Arromanches, a charming seaside resort famous for the remains of its artificial port : Mulberry. Constructed right after the landings, it was used to bring in over 2.5 million men and 4 million tonnes of supplies providing much needed reinforcements in France, a major step in the liberation of Europe. A chance to sample Normandy specialties in the local restaurants during your free time in the town before returning to Bayeux.

Bordeaux

The Great Dune of Pyla and Arcachon — Price Range $
One of the marvels of the Aquitaine region is the Great Dune of Pyla, the tallest sand dune in Europe. It stretches its 60 million cubic meters of fine sand on nearly 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) from south to north, 0.4 miles (500 meters) from west to east, and soars as high as 384 feet (117 meters). For the most athletic visitors, climbing up this slope is a real challenge. For others, a staircase makes the ascent a little easier. At the top, the view is spectacular, showcasing the coast, the vast pine forest of Les Landes, and, when the weather is clear, the Pyrenees range. Later, visit Arcachon, one of the most relaxed and beautiful beach towns on the Cote d’Argent (Silver Coast).
