Day 1: Sunday
Departure from USA to Italy – with your own purchased airline tickets.
Day 2: Monday — Sorrento
Welcome to Italy!
Upon arrival in Naples’ Capodichino airport – proceed through the Passport Control and collect your luggage inside the customs area. Transfer to your hotel in Sorrento. (Optional transfer is available on request). The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening you will meet your tour guide for an orientation and enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 3: Tuesday — Capri
After breakfast depart for Capri. Upon arrival transfer to Anacapri, where you will have free time to visit Villa San Michele. Take a walk to Augustus’s Gardens or ascend into the Piazzetta and enjoy the picturesque island made of limestone rock. A favorite place for artists and writers and the Mediterranean’s must-see places. If time and tide permits you can visit the Blue Grotto. Return to Sorrento in late afternoon. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 4: Wednesday — Sorrento – Free day
After breakfast, take the entire day to see Sorrento on your own. For certain departures, you can enjoy an optional Garden Lovers, or Food and Wine tour. Your guide/host will
provide you with a wide range of opportunities and optional tours:
Naples (full-day),
Naples & Archeological Museum,
Hercolaneum and Vesuvius,
Paestum: Greek Temples with a stop to visit a Mozzarella cheese factory.
Red wines of Irpinia in Campania, or
Villas of Ravello,
Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 5: Thursday — Sorrento/Amalfi Coast
After breakfast, enjoy a visit to one of the most intriguing coastlines in the world. Amalfi, Positano, Maiori and Vietri. The small houses all huddling on top of each other, the breathtaking cliffs, the lemon and olive trees, small beaches, the Saracens and the Medieval watch towers so precious and is now a Unesco World Heritage site. Return to Sorrento and tonight we will enjoy a great panoramic dinner on a hilltop restaurant. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 6: Friday — Pompeii/Rome
Arriverderci to Sorrento! After breakfast transfer to Rome and en route we will stop and visit Pompeii where you will have free time to explore this town frozen in time when the city was buried by the eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Pompeii is now a World Heritage site. In the afternoon continue to Rome and check-in at your hotel where you will meet your guide for an orientation of the Eternal City. In the evening enjoy a welcome cocktail followed by dinner. Overnight in Rome.

Day 7: Saturday — Rome
After breakfast, visit the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and see the great masterpiece of Michelangelo, “The Last Judgement”. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica to admire the art treasures of the largest Catholic Church in the world, including the “Pieta’ and other great masters whose works adorn this magnificent place. (Appropriate attire is required. No shorts or sleeveless tops). Stop for a quick lunch and continue on a walking tour in the heart of Rome: The Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon and more. In the evening enjoy a delightful dinner in a local trattoria. Overnight in Rome.

Day 8: Sunday — Rome – Free day
Enjoy this full-day at leisure or take an optional tour to discover the ancient and modern aspects of this cosmopolitan city. Stop in Trastevere to try the local cuisine, sit outside a café on the elegant Via Veneto or maybe shop in the fashionable Via Condotti or visit the Trevi Fountain and more. Your guide/host will provide you with a wide range of opportunities and optional tours:
Ancient Appian Way and the Catacombs,
The Etruscan Lands,
Food and Wine tour, or
Gardens of Rome.
Overnight in Rome.

Day 9:Monday — Rome/Siena/Monteriggioni/Florence
After breakfast depart for Florence, en route a stop in Siena is a must. The drive itself is a magnificent path along the roads of Tuscany. Enjoy the view of the hills covered by vineyards, olive trees, small villages and original bell towers. Continue on to Siena, and enjoy a guided walking tour of the town, probably the loveliest medieval place in Italy. In the heart of Siena is Piazza del Campo, where the famous horse race Il Palio takes place twice a year. For lunch enjoy a wine tasting with cheese and salamis. Before arriving in Florence and if time permitting , we will visit Monteriggioni to visit this ancient Templar village with its castle. Arrival in Florence in early evening and overnight.

Day 10:Tuesday — Florence
In the morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of the city and visit the Accademia to admire “David”, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Lorenzo de Medici, in the 15th century, transformed Florence into the cradle of the Renaissance by attracting the best artists, architects and writers of the time the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli to name a few. Visit Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, Giotto’s bell tower, Ponte Vecchio, and Santa Croce. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring Florence on your own, maybe taking the opportunity to visit the Uffizi Gallery. Late afternoon, meet the assistant for a 30 minute sunset walking tour to explore the hidden Florence. The sunset is spectacular and the best moment for your photos. At the end, enjoy a Tuscan dinner in a traditional Trattoria.

Day 11: Wednesday — Florence – Free day
Enjoy this day at leisure to discover Florence on your own or take an optional tour. Your guide/host will provide you with a wide range of opportunities and optional tours:
Pisa with its Leaning Tower,

Cortona & Assisi,
Wine tour of Chianti,
Gardens of Tuscany,
Ferrari, or
Cinqueterre.
Overnight in Florence.

Gratuities:
Tips to waiters, chambermaids, and to the Tour Directors, local guides, and drivers are not included. The following is a suggested guideline on tipping:
(a.) Euro 1.00 per person/per day for waiters and chambermaids
(b.) Euro 2.00 per person/per day for drivers and local guides
(c.) Euro 3.00 per person/per day for your Tour Director
Transfers: Add transfers to your tour so you don’t have to worry about how to get to your hotel and back. Price per one-way transfer is $159 per car if purchased with your tour. Car can accommodate 1 to 3 passengers depending on the number of suitcases you will have.
Transit Tax: As of July 1, 2011 all visitors to Italy are required to pay an additional tourist tax for their hotel stay. The new tax has been created mainly to help re-build the ancient cities and is based on how many stars a hotel has. This tax may vary by city and can range from 3 to 5 Euro per person, per night, for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights. This must be paid by the visitor, in Euro, directly to the hotel at time of check-out. It will be presented as a separate charge from any other charges accrued at the hotel. (Children under the age of 10 are exempt from this tax.
Baggage:  Different airlines may have different policies. For information on specific airline policies, please check your carriers web site.
Air Transportation: Air fares change often and vary by gateway city, season, day of week and seat availability. Our air fares will be quoted to you within two business days of your tour reservation and will include the air fare, fuel surcharges and government taxes as quoted by the airlines. You are under no obligation to accept our airfare quote and may elect to use your reward miles or your preferred airline. Typical airfares from New York to Rome varies from $1200 in March – May and September – October to $1500 in June – August but can change without prior notice. We highly recommend to reserve your seats early in order to obtain the best air fare.
