Our tour will leave from Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses’ Fountain, heading to Piazza della Repubblica, previously known as “dell’Esedra” as its central area also called Esedra of the Diocletian Baths is hidden now by the Fountain of Naiadi. We will continue towards Via Sistina where we’ll leave the bus to start our walking trough the ages, starting from the Spanish Steps and reaching Piazza di Spagna, with the famous fountain “la Barcaccia” realized from Pietro Bernini. Then the guided tour will lead you to the Trevi Fountain, a baroque jewel, and to the Pantheon (meaning “Temple of all the Gods”), a building in Rome which was originally built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets in the state religion of Ancient Rome. It is the best preserved of all Roman buildings, and perhaps the best preserved building of its age. At the end of the tour we will finally reach the gorgeous Piazza Navona, built on the ruins of the Domitian’s Circus adorned by the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers, masterpiece of Gian Lorenzo Bernini realized in 1651. Lunch in typical restaurant. In the afternoon you will enjoy the splendour of the classic Roman Empire. Leaving Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses’ Fountain, we will head to Piazza Venezia. Crossing the square we will admire on one side the Memorial to King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After this ample view of an important part of the city, the guided tour will take you to visit the Roman Forum, walking along the ancient pavement, which crosses the evocative ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, the Reggia. You will then admire the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Arch of Costantine. The tour will continue with the visit of the massive structure of the Colosseum (internal visit). Originally named Flavian Amphitheatreit is a giant amphitheatre used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. The amphitheatre, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire, was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian’s reign. The excursion will go on visiting the Palatine Hill. The ancient “palatium”, historical residence of the Caesars, from whose name is derived the use of the term “Palace”, to indicate a seat of official power.

A visit to Rome cannot be completed without learning about this area and its history. Your tour starts from Trastevere, one of the most beloved areas of Rome by locals and tourists alike. Admire the splendid Basilica of St. Mary in Trastevere, then ready to stroll through beautiful alleys. Reach Isola Tiberina, the island on the Tiber river sites for important hospitals and through Ponte Fabricio, the oldest bridge in town, access the Jewish Ghetto: one of the oldest Jewish communities in Rome. Life in the ghetto was, at that time, one of crushing poverty, due to the severe restrictions placed upon the unskilled jobs, such as ragmen, second-hand dealers or fish mongers that the jewish could perform. Discover how those people lived at that time and look at it now, full of life and destination for leisure time. Stroll through the medieval alleys that survived the restoration of the area and admire the gorgeous Fountain of Turtles by Giacomo della Porta. You’ll admire the 20th century buildings next to the medieval ones and the fascinating archaeological area of the Porticus Octaviae, the remains of an ancient Roman building. Our guide will introduce to you the Synagogue of Rome, built after Italy’s unification in 1870, when the Jews were given Italian citizenship. Tour ends at the Synagouge.

Rome Italy Underground Rome: The Jewish Catacomb of the Old Appian Way –  $495 for up to 6 people  1.5 hours — call for specific days and times
The Jewish Catacombs of Vigna Randanini were discovered in the 19th century on the Appian way. They are one of seven known complexes utilized for Jewish burials. Today they are closed to the public and may only be visited with special permission.  These catacombs, like their Christian and pagan counterparts, are a series of underground burial galleries with tombs carved into the soft volcanic stone of the area. The deceased were interred in painted loculi, cubicula, and kokhim. The presence of these kokhim set them apart from Rome’s pagan and Christian catacombs. They were deep chambers in which the deceased would be buried perpendicular to the wall. The openings were sealed with marble epitaphs. The Vigna Randanini present interesting inscriptions predominantly in Latin and Greek language.

The Sorrentine Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast are some of the most captivating and beautiful areas in Italy leaving an unforgettable impression to all visitors. Enjoy our multi day tours and discover this area full of wonderful landscapes, incredible views, charming fishing village and, of course, excellent cuisine. Day 01: Departure at 07.30 to Naples by coach with multilingual Tour Escort. Upon arrival in Naples our local guide will take you for a walking tour of the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Galleria of Umberto and the San Carlo Opera House. Then continue to Pompeii. After a short visit to a coral and cameo factory lunch in a local Restaurant and then visit the excavations of this ancient Roman city which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 b.C. and buried under 4 to 6 mt. of ash and stones. After driving back into Florence, we get out near the river Arno and continue on foot through the medieval streets, to the east of the old city centre, as we walk past the Franciscan Basilica of Santa Croce (where Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo and many other famous people are buried) on our way to the spectacular Piazza della Signoria, where we admire the imposing Palazzo della Signoria or Palazzo Vecchio and the harmonious Loggia della Signoria, as well as the many statues by Cellini, Giambologna and Ammannati adorning the square . Our chef will be happy to introduce you to the history of these italian glorious creations!  Meet a  professional pizza chef, called pizzaiolo. Even if you bake pizza in your own oven, these techniques are universal and using them really makes a difference. With the pizzaiolo, you’ll make your very own pizza, you’ll stretch it, sauce it, bake it, slice it. It will be the best pizza you ever tasted, and you made it yourself!  Then on to gelato!  The chef will tell you why gelato remains Italy’s favorite dessert while giving an insight to the ‘gelato culture’ that continues to grow. Visit two of the most beautiful cities in the Tuscan countryside!  Our trip will start from Florence and our first stop will be in Pisa, the city known worldwide for its Leaning Tower and for its architectonic masterpieces. Once  in Pisa our guide will lead you to the famous Miracles Square explaining the wonders of this square. You will admire The Leaning Tower (exterior), the Baptistery (exterior) and other beautiful monuments before entering inside the Cathedral (interior). At the end of the visit you will have free time for photos and for lunch (not included) before departing for Lucca. In Lucca you will meet your local guide, who will lead you on a pleasant walk into the enchanting historical centre where you will have the chance to admire the Anfiteatro Square, the Guinigi Tower, San Martino Dome and the typical “antique dealers street”. Spend a romantic, relaxing  afternoon going through the narrow streets and canals of Venice, the best way to visit this wonderful city: walking and by Gondola.   Take a walking tour with your local guide to see the area between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, passing by some special places: Teatro la Fenice, Scala del Bovolo, Rialto Bridge.

Then, embarking on a gondola (up to 6 people per gondola) for a fascinating 35 minute ride on the Grand Canal (S. Maria della Salute area) and minor canals (Fenice area) – The tour ends with the landing at the station Vallaresso (Dogana).

Explore the famous islands of the Venice lagoon! You’ll watch glass-blowers at work on Murano, shop for lace on Burano and visit Venice’s first church on the tranquil island of Torcello.  After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant’ Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat arrives at Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here you have a 40 minute visit to one of the factories, to discover the magic of glass. The second stop will be at the pictoresque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace, but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colors. The stop will last about 30 minutes.  Then, after a short sail, you’ll reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the lagoon. Only the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. This stop lasts about 30 minutes. Then the boat will make its way back to St. Mark’s Square.
