Discover the beauty of Naples and visit Pompeii, one of the world’s most fascinating archaeological sites, on a full-day excursion from Rome.  Join us on tour to have a full immersion back to the Roman times visiting ancient buildings, bakeries and Temples and admiring priceless frescoes and mosaics.
The first stop is Naples, one of the most enchanting cities in the Mediterranean famous worldwide for its rich history, art, culture and gastronomy, where you will take a short panoramic tour to discover its beauty from the comfort of your coach climbing up the Vomero hill.  The town overlooks the Bay of Naples which extends from the Sorrentine Peninsula to the volcanic area of the Phlegrean fields, the skyline is dominated by the majestic and still active Vesuvius, offering an impressive sight perfect to take stunning pictures.
Descending towards the port of Mergellina, you will leave the city and travel south toward Mount Vesuvius to reach the town of Ercolano where we will stop for lunch.  The restaurant is in a first class hotel in Herculaneum, situated in a marvelous atmosphere surrounded by wonderful gardens dating back to 1700.  Then head to Pompeii and Skip the Line to one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Through the remains and ruins of this ancient city you will learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the city, killing its inhabitants and burying it under tons of ash.  The site was lost for about 1,500 years until its initial rediscovery.  The objects beneath the city have been well-preserved for centuries.  You can walk along the ancient streets for a glimpse into the lives of the Romans, discovering ancient houses, bakeries and shops and imagine the everyday life of the Roman times.  At the end of the visit we will return to Rome by coach.

Drive along the romantic Viale dei Colli up to Piazale Michelangeloand sto to admire the wonderful panorama of the city, one of the most beautiful in the world.
The tour will proceed by coach through the old city centre.  Then take a walking guided visit of the outdoor Duomo complex: the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso and visit the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi and Giotto’s bell tower. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the renowned Galleria dell’Accademia where you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist.  Tour ends in Piazza Duomo.

A fine coach tour offering panoramic views of the unparalleled beauty of Florence, taking in Fiesole, a delightful town of Etruscan origin set on the hills overlooking Florence and the Arno Valley. After a panoramic drive by bus along the banks of the Arno, the tour continues on foot with a guided tour of the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, Miracles Square, the Leaning Tower (exterior), the Baptistery (exterior) and other beautiful monuments before entering inside the Cathedral (interior). From there your escort will walk you to Piazza dei Cavalieri, where you can admire the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world.

Departing from Florence, our tour will start in Monteriggioni, well known worldwide for its wine and its countryside of unrivaled charm, where woods alternate with vineyards and olive groves, in a landscape dotted with Romanesque churches, farmhouses, villas and castles.  We’ll continue to Siena, where our local, expert guide will lead you through its steep medieval streets, admiring the splendid palaces until we reach the Cathedral, Palazzo Communale (Municipal Building), and Piazza del Campo, where the Palio race takes place every year. After you will have free time for lunch on your own or shopping. The visit will continue to San Gimignano, one of the most fascinating examples of medieval towns, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  Your escort will lead you to the heart of the village where you will have free time to discover the beautiful squares, buildings, churches and streets to shop.  Finally we’ll stop in a farm house, where you’ll taste some of the best Tuscan wines with a snack of sliced cold meats, bruschetta and cheese.  Return to Florence in late afternoon.

Santa Maria Formosa – History and anecdotes related to this wonderful and characteristic square. Campo SS. Venice Italy Excursion to the Islands of Murano, Burano & Torcello (132398) – $28   4 hours daily at 9:30a.m. & 2:30 p.m. **Minimum of 8 needed to operate.

Explore the famous islands of the Venice lagoon! You’ll watch glass-blowers at work on Murano, shop for lace on Burano and visit Venice’s first church on the tranquil island of Torcello. After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant’ Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat arrives at Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here you have a 40 minute visit to one of the factories, to discover the magic of glass. The second stop will be at the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace, but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colors. The stop will last about 30 minutes. Then, after a short sail, you’ll reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the lagoon. Only the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. This stop lasts about 30 minutes. Then the boat will make its way back to St. Mark’s Square.
